MARCHANT-CHAR/MARCHANTPANZERS

Marchant-Char (Marching Tanks, otherwise known as 'Marchantpanzers' or 'mechwalkers' in other regions of the world) are a technical marvel in the world of Aemissum. The purposes and roles in which these machines are used varies, with them being used across the civilian, industrial and military sectors. Despite being called marching tanks, they actually have no relation to tanks in terms of their function outside of parts such as the hatches and torso rotational pivots loosely resembling parts from a tank. Their legs are typically bipedal, although quadrupedal, LtA (land-to-air), hovercraft and tank-leg chassis also exist. Rather than being developed with the mindset of replacing the existing modes of transportation, these were instead developed to compliment existing transportation methods.

Terminology/designations:
Bipeds: Two-legged marchant-char. The most common variety used in multiple roles.
Quadrupeds/Hexapeds: Four or six-legged marchant-char, typically used for weapons platforms, agricultural or construction marchant-char.
LtA (Land-to-Air): Arare form of convertible marchant-char capable of converting from an aircraft to a marchant-char on the fly.
Hovercraft: Experimental models that'd function similarly to IRL hovercraft/ACVs.
Tank-legs: A marchant-char torso mounted onto a tank chassis. Similar models that are mounted onto armored cars also exist.
