Welcome to RedSpy!
What is RedSpy? RedSpy is a pseudo-revival of GameSpy's main website using code from and based on it's UI from 2000 to 2005. This is where I'll post reviews of games or mods that pique my interest as well as various gaming polls (inspired by GameSpy's Grudges), recipes and eventually a forum. This page is currently a work in progress so stay tuned as progress is made to update things! Please note that all of the articles below are placeholders and the pages in the menu and elsewhere are not live/created at this time. I'll get to it!

Why GameSpy?
GameSpy (1996-2013) was the cornerstone for multiplayer gaming in the late 90s and 2000s. It not only hosted thousands of game servers, but also was home to various subsites (Planets as they were called) each with their own forums and niches across a wide array of genres and interests. I feel like the death of GameSpy and the Planet sites wasn't only a massive blow to the servers for hundreds of games leaving many still unplayable without clients like OpenSpy to this day, but it also killed off an entire community and it's subcommunities within.
I also started this due to my fear of the original site being purchased by a domain squatter and resold to someone who will (likely) turn it into another content farm. It happened with sites like GamersHell, FilePlanet and Xfire and it very well may happen again with GameSpy's old site. There's also the fact that a lot of the Planet sites are going down and many of their current links are redirecting to IGN's absolutely dogwater game wikis. While these sites are all archived via the Wayback Machine (hell, that's how I got the URL and code I'm using as the basis for this sub-site/shrine thingy), I feel like they deserve a proper restoration.
Will this include a server revival for GS Arcade?/Is this related to OpenSpy? No, this project is not related in anyway to OpenSpy nor is it my intent to revive the dormant Arcade client (as much as I'd want to do so). The focus is mostly on reviving/emulating the feel of the old site itself and possibly recreating the forums at a later date. At some point I may also take a jab at recreating a sort of bootleg FilePlanet-esque thing with redirects to PixelDrain and Archive.org but that's for later.
